Go Natural with Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are often referred to as instant orthodontics. They offer the patient a straight, beautiful smile in much less time than traditional orthodontic treatment. Individually sculpted and customized for each patient, veneers give the appearance of your natural teeth, but unlike natural teeth, the high-tech materials prevent staining. Porcelain veneers also offer your teeth added strength and durability that is comparable to the enamel of your natural teeth. A smile consultation with one of our Fort Collins team members can help you determine if porcelain veneers are for you.

Restore Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a great treatment choice for smiles that need a little cosmetic boost. If you have teeth that are stained, discolored, chipped, or that have moderate gaps between them, porcelain veneers can be a good option for you.  Drs. Murri and Willey will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth to determine if you are a good candidate for porcelain veneers. Minor malpositions of anterior teeth can be effectively corrected with porcelain veneers. More advanced situations will require orthodontic treatment with Invisalign or braces.  Our experienced team at Fort Collins Family & Cosmetic Dentistry of the Rockies can help you decide what’s best for you.

Natural-Looking Results

At Fort Collins Family & Cosmetic Dentistry of the Rockies, we offer our patients results that are as unique as our patients. We use advanced computer imaging to analyze your smile and create “diagnostic mock-ups” so you can visualize what you would look like with porcelain veneers. By making sure the porcelain veneers complement your face, we can prevent results that look unnatural or unattractive. During the consultation phase, we will use smile analysis, computer imaging, and digital x-rays and impressions of your teeth and gums to create a product that is uniquely your own.

The Bonding Procedure

Dental veneers are permanently cemented to your teeth during the bonding procedure.  Dr. Murri or Dr. Willey take the time necessary to make sure that your veneer is the right color and fit before it is permanently cemented to your tooth.  The veneer color can be adjusted with the shade of cement that looks most natural. Your tooth will be prepared for the veneer by first receiving a cleaning, polishing and an etching. Etching roughens the tooth to allow for a strong bonding process. A special cement is affixed to the veneer and then veneer is placed on your tooth. A special light beam is applied to the dental veneer, which activates chemicals in the cement, causing it to harden or cure very quickly. The final steps of receiving your veneer involve removing any excess cement, evaluating your bite and making final adjustments in the veneer if needed.

Easy Maintenance

Our patients love how easy it is to maintain their porcelain veneers following treatment. They don’t require any out-of-the-norm actions by you.  Continue with your excellent oral care by daily brushing and flossing and your smile will stay brilliant. Avoiding non-abrasive fluoride toothpastes will help your porcelain veneers look their best.

Follow-Up Care

One week after your veneers are placed, we will ask you to return to our office for a follow-up appointment.  Drs. Murri and Willey will assess how your mouth is adjusting to the veneers.  If you grind or clench your teeth, you may be fitted with a nighttime bite guard so you do not damage your veneers.  Regular visits to our Fort Collins Family & Cosmetic Dentistry of the Rockies facility will also allow us to polish your veneers with a specially formulated, non-abrasive compound and allow Drs. Murri and Willey the opportunity to inspect your porcelain veneers to see how they are functioning.
