Fort Collins General & Family Dentistry

While no one looks forward to the routine checkup and cleaning, there’s no denying that it’s an important part of maintaining the health and beauty of your smile. Proper oral hygiene is another essential component of dental health, which should be practiced every day and ideally after mealtime. However, it can be hard to maintain good habits due to our hectic lifestyles. As teeth are the hardest substance in our body, we blithely chew and eat whatever we want without a second thought. Drinking sugary beverages is second nature for many of us looking for a quick energy boost, paying no mind to the ill effects on our teeth and our blood sugar levels. Only when a weakened tooth starts to hurt are we finally willing to take the time to stop.

At Glacier Creek Dental, we believe that it’s always better to prevent rather than to cure or repair. Not only do regular checkups and cleanings help protect against dental pain and disease, it protects the health of your wallet as well. Waiting until you feel the problem to see a dentist may wind up costing you more, because other treatments may be necessary to deal with the damage or infection.

Our Fort Collins dentistry office provides the following general dental services:

The Advantages of Regular Checkups and Early Detection

It’s a given that quality dental care is essential for the health and looks of our teeth and gums. But it’s also worth noting that it’s an important part of your overall health as well. Untreated dental or periodontal infections don’t just lead to the possibility of lost teeth and inflamed gums. They can also greatly increase your risk of developing:

  • Sepsis (blood infection)
  • Brain abscess
  • Bacterial endocarditis (inflammation of the heart valves)
  • Ludwig’s Angina (face and jaw infection)
  • Jaw bone damage, which can distort the shape of your face

Fortunately, serious health situations like these can be easily avoided with early and accurate detection. Glacier Creek Dental uses only precise diagnostic tools, which are used in all our comprehensive exams, including our laser cavity and oral cancer screenings.

What to Expect from Your Visit

We strive to make your visit a pleasant and convenient experience, which is why we encourage you to download and complete our new patient forms before you come for your appointment. Per standard operating procedure, we obtain your previous medical/dental history, which will be taken into account before your consultation begins. Any x-rays or records you already have will be helpful as well. After your consultation is completed, an exam may be required before any treatment can be recommended.

Payment and financing can be discussed with the patient liaison during your appointment, or you can call our office beforehand for your convenience. It is our belief that financial issues shouldn’t discourage patients from obtaining needed dental treatment. This is why we offer fair and reasonable payment plans in addition to accepting most dental insurance policies.

Your trust and well-being is our top priority. We will never pressure you into expensive or elective treatments, and we’re happy to inform you of all your available options. This includes lower-cost treatments that produce the same results. We’ll also tell you if further treatment is unnecessary or harmful because our bottom line is about what’s best for your dental health.
